For the past few days I’ve spied Jack Frost on the grass around my house. The tang of fall is in the air, and in honor of the season, I read “To Autumn,” by John Keats.

Pretty good.
Allow me to clarify. By pretty good, I really meant pareettyy gooooooood.
Reminds me of a poem my mother shared with me many years ago:
“God’s World,” by Edna St. Vincent Millay
O World, I cannot hold thee close enough!
Thy winds, thy wide grey skies!
Thy mists, that roll and rise!
Thy woods, this autumn day, that ache and sag
And all but cry with color! That gaunt crag
To crush! To lift the lean of that black bluff!
World, World, I cannot get thee close enough!
Long have I known a glory in it all,
But never knew I this;
Here such a passion is
As stretcheth me apart,–Lord, I do fear
Thou’st made the world too beautiful this year;
My soul is all but out of me,–let fall
No burning leaf; prithee, let no bird
call.
That’s a great poem, I believe. The ending really seals it. The rhyme sends chills up my spine. I’d never read it before; I’m very glad to know of it. I wish you’d record it. If you don’t, I fear I will.
You, reading seasonally-appropriate Keats?
What more can a girl ask for?
Love it. Looooove it.
I believe I am sufficiently inspired to record my Thursday Poems reading…and I have tracked down good equipment with which to do so. Now, I only have to figure out this podcasting business… (Attn: Jim Groom).
IT WAS FANTASTIC TO SEE YOU ON SATURDAY! It made my whole Fall Break, perhaps my whole semester…my whole life? Miss you, Dr. C.
Wishing you well!

I enjoy listening to this poem it is very interested. I love the way he talk’s about Autumn. This poem makes my feelings for nature even strong. I love how we state in his poem that Autumn will soon turned into winter.
What a treat to have the best so well deservedly presented. Keep it up or man will be deprived of the best that should be.
