Temper, now there’s a word that will keep one guessing,. While I would venture, given the context it means to moderate one’s passions, emotions or tone; I just can’t help thinking of the passionate outburst that characterizes my own relationship to this word. Language’s propensity towards revaluation and, at times, complete subversion of meanings oer time make it anything but a tempered set of signs.
